Privacy policy
Well Good Mail is a Windows app that reads and sends your email directly from your own computer. We don't run a server that holds your mail, and we never see it.
Last updated 3 November 2026.
The short version
- Your email, calendar and contacts go between your PC and Google, and nowhere else.
- Nothing is sent to Well Good Media, and nothing is sold, shared or used for advertising.
- There is no tracking, analytics or crash reporting in the app.
- You can disconnect an account, or delete everything the app has stored, at any time.
Who we are
Well Good Mail is made by Well Good Media Ltd, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC753603), with an office in Glasgow. You can contact us at support@wellgood.media.
What the app asks Google for
When you add a Google account, you sign in on Google's own page in your browser. Well Good Mail never sees your Google password. You are then asked to allow the following, and the app uses each permission only for the purpose below.
| Permission | What it's used for |
|---|---|
| Gmail (read, compose, send and manage) | Showing your mail, sending replies and new messages, and archiving, labelling, starring and moving messages to the bin. The app can't permanently delete mail. |
| Google Calendar (read only) | Showing your upcoming events in the reminders list. |
| Google Contacts and other contacts (read only) | Suggesting names and addresses as you type a recipient. |
| Google Drive (files the app creates) | Uploading a large attachment to Drive and putting a link in your email. The app can only see files it has created itself. |
| Your name, email address and profile | Showing which account is which. |
Where your data lives
- On your PC only. Messages, search data and settings are stored in the app's own folder on your computer so that search and offline reading work.
- Sign-in keys are stored in Windows Credential Manager, the secure store built into Windows.
- Emails are shown safely. Incoming mail is cleaned and displayed in a sealed frame. Images and trackers are blocked until you allow them.
Who can see it
Only you, on your PC. We don't receive, copy, store or read your email, calendar or contacts, and we don't share them with anyone. We don't use them for advertising, for profiling, or to train any AI model. The app doesn't send any of your Google data anywhere except back to Google.
One technical detail: the app checks for updates by asking GitHub for a small update file. That request contains no personal information beyond the ordinary details any web request carries, such as your IP address.
Google API Services User Data Policy
Well Good Mail's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
- Disconnect an account: choose Remove next to it in Settings, then Accounts. The app forgets its sign-in key and deletes the mail it stored for that account.
- Revoke access from Google's side: visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove Well Good Mail.
- Delete everything: uninstall the app from Windows. Removing each account first makes sure the stored mail and sign-in keys are cleared too.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If you have any questions, write to support@wellgood.media.
